BenefitsCal is a new self-service site for all Californians, wherever they are. Live – to request and manage benefits like CalFresh and Disaster CalFresh Financial Assistance), CalWORKS and Immigrant Cash Assistance Program (cash assistance), Medical, and County Medical Services Program (medical aid).

BenefitsCal is scheduled to be rolled out in all 58 counties in three phases from September 2021 to October 2023. Eventually, it will replace three existing systems, C4Yourself ® and MyBenefits CalWIN, with a national strategy.

Food

Increase your meal budget and let the CalFresh program help you put healthy foods on the table.

Cash Aid

Receive money every month to pay for housing, food, and other expenses. CalWORKs is a program for increasing opportunities and responsibilities for California’s children.

Health Coverage

Medical supplies are available for all members of your family, including children and the elderly. Additionally, nursing services are available for children with disabilities, foster families, and pregnant women. Those who have tuberculosis, breast cancer, or HIV/AIDS can also receive insurance coverage.

What is the process for applying for Calfresh benefits?

There are three ways to apply for food stamps in California.

Option 1 – Apply online

You can apply for California SNAP online through the BenefitCal.com system. After creating an account (following the instructions above), you can order CalFresh online through BenefitsCal. You can also order CalFresh online at getcalfresh.org. Getcalfresh.org allows you to log in or create an account if you do not have an account. Access the site by clicking here.

Option 2: Apply at the appropriate CDSS office. At an appropriate California Department of Social Services (CDSS) office, you can apply in person. In order to locate the nearest CDSS office.

You can download a form, complete it, mail it to your county’s CDSS office, or apply in person.
